Former Manchester United player Owen Hargreaves has said that he believes Arsenal manager Mikel Artera can steer his side to Europa League glory with his current crop of players. However, he said that the London club stand a huge chance of lifting the trophy as long as they give precious chance to their young players.

Arsenal completed a hundred percent record in their Europa League group stage after seeing off Dundalk in their final Group stage encounter. The comprehensively convincing 4-2 win over Dundalk away from home was enough to convince Hargreaves that the Gunners are indeed capable of clinching the trophy this season.

Hargreaves decided not to pay attention to Arsenal’s league form this season and indicated that they are in a better position to perform better in the Europa League, given that they have confidence and momentum already in the competition.

Speaking to BT Sport, Hargreaves said that Arteta’s men have a great chance of emerging the winners of this season’s Europa League competition. He said Balogun, who came on in the second half is a talented player and showed just that immediately he came on.

He continued by saying Arsenal have Bukayo Saka and Joe Willock who have all had their big moments in the competition in the past, citing that if the young lads are handed more game time and given the opportunity they crave, they can end up as Champions of the 2020-21 edition of Europe’s second-tier competition.

AC Milan, Leicester City, Tottenham, amongst other top teams remain in the competition and there will even be more teams joining the Europa League as they have been knocked out of the Champions League. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can go all the way in the competition.
