Ex-Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has delivered his verdict on Brazilian national team player Fred after his mistake in the last league game led to the loss of two points for his team.

Fred was clearly at fault for the Everton goal in the second half as Manchester United were forced to a 1-1 draw. Owen Hargreaves was disappointed with the contribution of the Brazilian midfielder during the game. Owen Hargreaves told Premier League Productions while delivering his analysis on the league encounter that legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson would have condemned Fred to the bench for one month for his costly mistake against the Toffees.

Owen Hargreaves knows a lot of things about Sir Alex Ferguson having played under him during his time at the Theatre of Dreams. The veteran Scottish manager was the man who masterminded his move from German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich to Manchester United. The ex-England national team player would go on to win the 2007/08 Champions League title thanks to the nervy penalty shootout win over rivals in the final.

The current set of players under the tutelage of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have a lot of things to work on if they want to get to level of winning Champions League titles. The Everton game highlighted the weaknesses in the present Manchester United squad.

Manchester United had the incentive to move above Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea at the summit with a win over Everton at home and they were well on their way to that win with the deflected strike from French international Anthony Martial two minutes from the interval. In the end, the Red Devils had to settle for a point thanks to the second half mistakes from Fred. With the point against Everton, Manchester United maintained their space as the fourth best team on the Premier League table, while Everton are in fifth position. Everton and Manchester are on the same points (14) after seven games.
